Little Miami River Trail

We are here in Ohio visiting family. Chris and Chris have been suburb hosts, a better hotel and entertainment could not be found. Have been enjoying the grandkids. Gabe made his confirmation last week and this coming saturday, he and Jessie will make their first communion.

Have been riding my bike in the hills getting ready for the x country ride in June. Riding on the Little Miami River Scenic Trail, 87 miles of railway converted to paved bike paths. The trail runs through woods, farmland and quaint little villages. I had a coffee at a brick faced coffee shop / bakery that reminded me of the boulangerie pasterie shops in the french countryside.

Next week we head to Upstate New York for more family visits and hiking on the Fingerlakes trail.

Preride Vacations thru the Northeast

We are in our final preparations for leaving Sanibel for five months. Lots of chores to do and hang the hurricane shutters in the case of a major storm when we are gone.

From here we go to Ohio to visit family, hike and bike the Buckeye trails. Then to New York to visit family and hike and bike the Fingerlakes trails.

Then to Virginia to .....visit family and hike the Shenandoah section of the Appalachian trail, then head out West hiking and biking and sightseeing to Oregon to start the gramps back to Maine.

Beau has his bike ready with panniers packed and his favorite cycle glasses.

I'll post notes from memorable hike and bike days , we start the Cross Country ride June 21st.
